Interview 1 – The Last Train Home at Midnight (2025)

On December 19, 2025, the book “The Last Train Home at Midnight, Giuseppe Giuliano – music, thought” was published by Il Sileno publishing house. The volume retraces Giuseppe Giuliano’s long activity as a composer, pianist, and improviser. I am particularly pleased about this publication, as some time ago I introduced Giuseppe to Antonio Mastrogiacomo, the editor of the book, confident that something meaningful would emerge—and indeed, here it is: a 385-page e-book, freely downloadable, with a printed edition to follow.

For the book, I curated the graphic design of the cover and wrote a long preface. Of great interest are also the contributions by composers and musicians who enriched the volume with in-depth texts, expertly edited by Antonio Mastrogiacomo together with Giuseppe Giuliano himself. Contributors include: Pierre Yves Artaud, Josep Manuel Berenguer, Fabio De Sanctis De Benedictis, Irlando Danieli, Manuela Galizia, Ettore Garzia, Stefano Giust, Giuseppe Giuliano, Yuri Kasparov, Daniel Kientzy, Antonio Mastrogiacomo, Marco Molteni, Francesco Maria Paradiso, Corrado Rojac, Martin Supper, and Barrie Webb.

My role was to bring the voices of these musicians into the issue.

The magazine is co-directed by Viviana Gravano, Giulia Grechi, and Anna Chiara Cimoli; editorial staff and communication by Paola Bommarito. roots§routes is an independent quarterly magazine of visual culture. Each issue follows a thematic thread and gathers contributions accordingly. Interview 3 – Percorsi Musicali (2023)

A long interview for Percorsi Musicali, published on February 14, 2023, titled “30 Years of Setola di Maiale”.
“What clearly emerges is the coherence of intent and the rejection of any compromise, elements later supported by a growing popularity. What began as a radical and minimal expression has become a programmatic emphasis—a laboratory of products and musicians spanning every sub-sector of music. Setola di Maiale continues to grow in autonomy, nearing a catalogue of 500 releases, fostering important collaborations with key institutions of non-aligned music. Stefano dislikes idle talk or intellectual noise; behind a measured shyness lies a concrete, incisive thought.” (Ettore Garzia)
